"Earning my stripes" - JD Hammer...

(@slasherx4)
Noble Member

JD traveled for 10 hours to meet up with sharkinsonny and his crew, then the going gets tough, JD throws out more baits... Right after the trip JD, JD, and mom came over to my house, dropped me some pictures and told me some laughs and hardships of the trip.

When the sun rises... the moon falls.

Me and JD continue to compete for sunrise/sunset pics.

JD with his father George who lives on Florida's west coast

the first night was still warm

Baits out

life in the eyes of a fly...

pensacola

JD mentioned to me how everyone that paddled out baits managed to get injured by lake-like waters, the 2ft shore-break wave was brutal and embarrasing. JD Hammer broke a paddle over his stomach and JD Fagan got knocked out by a kayak... I believe sharkinsonny was injured too? could be wrong. That makes waves 3- fishermen 0.

Goin out, check out that shore break.

did he get hit?

looks like a catfish got to it...

The cold weather was also just as brutal as the waves.

strange pier

Pensacola pier

The fishing from the piers were excellent, besides boat traffic, Hammer got an 8lb kingfish on an x-rap with no leader and 12lb test and Fagan got a big spanish mackeral. Later they went to the pier but forgot the tackle box, fagan found a doa shrimp in the crack of the pier and added a weight to it and caught a baby cobia. Also, nobody in Pensacola seems to know what an x-rap lure is.

big macks

more macks

remo... wait it's a cobia

Many other fish were caught and lost...

In the end a nice tiger shark was landed, the trip seemed to be great, JD told me out of all of his trips that goes as one of his top 10. Waves 3- fishermen 1 (with stripes).

Just an average fisherman.

Hey, Mark, I think it was Jordan, not Sonny that was the third person who was hurt. I'm sure that JD Hammer appreciates the fact that you didn't post the bare belly picture with the slice from having the paddle snap across his stomach when he was flipped. :o The picture with hammer & the old man is JD & his daddy, George. George still enjoys a good fishing trip, too! :D

I've been wondering where the heck Ernie & Joey had been. I figured they were having computer or internet problems & I've missed their posts. While JD & company were in Pensacola, I tried to find their contact number on the club's contact list but it wasn't there. :(
