The biggest land-based shark caught in the Florida keys as far as anyone knows is this 14 foot Tiger shark .It was 1969 when Lee Caman caught this 14 foot 1020 lb tiger shark on the Channel 2 catwalk using a 9/0 with dacron line.Years ago my Buddy Rene de Dios and i got the picture and the story from the guy at T and R bait and tackle on Commercial Blvd in Ft Lauderdale not too far from Anglin's pier.Lee Caman and some friends were on the catwalk when he hooked and fought the huge tiger shark for 4 hours into the morning when they were finally able to beach the monster tiger. As you can see it had a massive girth and took 9 people to get into the back of the pick up truck. The exact length of this shark was said to be 14 and a half feet but i'm guessing closer to 14 foot seems more likely.

This is the biggest shark ever caught from a Florida Key's bridge

Catching this monster from a bridge caused a sensation in 1969, and even by todays standards a difficult task to equal.Notice the Penn Senator 9/0 and dacron line used to subdue this beast.
