The sharks were there and everyone wanted a piece of the action and to compete with Rene but no one could match his tenacity and perserverance. The piers proximity to Goverment cut inlet was one of the reasons so many sharks were caught at the pier.Big hammerhead sharks and bull sharks would be seen from jetties cruising in and out of the inlet so it was no suprise that half a mile north of the inlet the pier was a perfect place to target those inlet sharks.

William , this has got to be the most complete historical depiction of the actual south beach sans clubs, restaurants and models of the era if the reader goes beyond the shark fishing action and observes the landscaping and the fact that many fotogs were black and white.

i would invite the viewers that found your way to this website via another avenue to take your time and check out some of the posts you'll find some one or some place you remember if your a local Miamian.

Obs . i found that foto depicting Rene and the surfers in the background mesmorizing and real !

AJM.
