IS AFW(American Fishing Wire) Getting Softer?
I've been using AFW for years now and recently ordered a new batch from Alltackle.com. Has anyone noticed AFW as being softer? Honestly, the #19 feels like Malin wire. Just curious if anyone else has had this experience.

I just got some #21 500lb and its not soft at all
Yea this stuff, the coffee color was a strange batch. Maybe the guy who sold it to me put Malin in there.
I was about to order some Malin, is the AFW better?

Ya know I think it is. There seems to be a general consensus that malin is a softer wire. I know some guys use it without problem, but every now and then somebody looses a big fish on it as well.
The malin is easier to twist though.
I've used both and have had success with the two although the I did notice that the last batch looked different in color and then i saw they had a #18 and it also felt different. What these companies do in these tough economic times is buy Chinese made products to lower cost and increase profits and the consumer is often unaware of the change and ultimately has to deal with inferior quality merchandise.Sad but true.
