Great place to visit and fish???
My family has grand ideas to go on a quick vacation Memorial Day weekend. For some reason, I am the only one to get the recessive fishing gene in my family, so any vacation for me involves bending a rod. Whether I'm in the NC catching brown trout, or in Wisconsin catching king salmon.
Anyway, we were thinking of somewhere in the Islands, or in Florida. Out of my 5 family members, I'm am the only one that (quoting my Grandfather here...) "watches paint dry." Being the teenager I am, I am no expert traveler
Where do you guy's think would be a good place for my family to enjoy the vacation, where I could sneak off with a few lures, maybe my 30w and the good 'ol Gatorglass?
So far, my ideas were:
1)Key West: a lot to do but not much fishing unless I'm gonna get a charter
2)Boca Grande/ SW Florida: not much to do, but a lot to catch
3)Rental House in the Middle Keys: a lot of fish, and a something to do for everybody
4)Somewhere in the Bahamas: ...it sounds cool, and I could do some exploring, but no shark rod
What do ya think?

long Key is about to get red hot. Tarpon big hammers, permit.big cudas and Snook and Jacks.A ND BIG MUTTON SNAPPERS. iT CAN'T BE BEAT ANYWHERE. APRIL AND MAY.
Yeah I've been dreaming about the time I finally get down there from Jupiter. I might sneak out to the bridge for a little line stretching
Miami is also a good place. Lots of SFSC members that would be willing to go fish with you. All you would need to do is put up on the forum when you would be down and Im sure at least three or four would be willing to go.

2013 BHC 2nd place Largest Shark by a Junior Angler
Middle keys and key west can be fished from land... key west has white street pier, cast a small shark bait out there you can get hit... the middle keys have many good bridges to fish, your going down during prime time... get shark baits from the charter boats or catch your own.
Just an average fisherman.
Yeah I'm liking the Keys
I've been going down there for as long as I can remember, and I've been running offshore there for just as long
...but now I'm ready for the bridges
The bridges are always good and if u want a good fight there's a small bridge by bud and marys marina that's kinda hard to fish but always holds sharks only reson its hard to fish is cuz the bouys and you can get cut off easy but always holds big sharks keys is definitely best spot u named
Well, our sites are set on Naples
Not my first choice, but I know it'll be cool to see and fish new waters for me
I'm probably gonna bring my little Newell 220, 30w, and my powerhouse 6/0 along with a few little rods for the small stuff
I think I'll keep this one chill and just spend a few hours on the sand at night
I've been fishing hard lately Im gonna take it easy and just spend time with family, and wet some lines
Thanks guys!
