For those interested I am a full time charter captain out of Jacksonville/St Augustine and would love to gain your business.

We offer a variety of trips ranging from 6-12 hours with the 12 hour being our most popular. On the 12 Hour trip you will get to experience some of the best Florida has to offer that is on par with or even better than the Bahamas and the Tortugas! I specialize in Bluewater trolling which in my opinion doesn’t get any better in Florida than right here. Most trips consist of bountiful catches of Blackfins, Wahoo, Mahi and Sails. Last year we even boated two monsters at 92lbs and 82lbs!!! Pics Below.

If you prefer bottom fishing ours is second to none! Monster grouper, giant muttons and the biggest mangos in Florida and all the Vermillion snapper, triggerfish and porgies you could ever want. Check out some of the photos below and give me a call if you have any interest. Glad to see the forum back up and running and looking forward to many more posts!

Tight lines,

Havent posted here in a really long time. Heading up to HH island, SC for a few days and wanted to know if anyone has had luck up there. If there are any spots that are good or particular baits to use would be much appreciated. I'll be mostly fishing at night and will have a yak.

For those of you who follow or are involved in land based shark fishing (LBSF) here in the state of Florida, especially as it pertains to the FWC and its proposed regulations to govern this sport---good news!

Last week, I was personally invited to sit down ONE ON ONE with the FWC Commsioners as well as Administrators and Staff.....These guys are the TOP BRASS here in Florida who regulate our fisheries. The meeting also included live big screen video interaction with supporting groups in Tallahassee.....To say that I was totally BLOWN AWAY by this very personal invitation is an understatement! To be directly involved in this process is a great honor and I did my absolute best to be as practical and as neutral as possible to get valid points across.

And they listened! For over 2 hours!

The FWC and supporting Staff in NO WAY desire to banish this sport entirely from our state. Quite the contrary, they seek reasonable solutions to make this sport practical, ethical, and as responsible as possible for everyone....for the sharks, too!

The FWC also gave me for review copies of their current official drafts for the new LBSF regulations.

What all this means: no one should EVER assume that their voice is never going to be heard by the higher up officials, or what one truly believes in will never make a single bit of difference. I'm just an ordinary shark fisherman who spoke up and got noticed. My example, though, can be used for anyone....or for any fishery.

That's why it's important to speak out now and have a voice now, no matter who you are or where you live. The workshop schedules for LBSF have been posted on the FWC's website. Try to attend!

Anyone CAN make a difference! And I'm proof of it.

I've heard whispered from LBSFisherman over the years that using a shark as bait to catch bigger sharks is a good strategy. Can anyone speak to this? I'm interested in running out a small "LEGAL" BT as bait in an attempt to place a really good bait in front of a monster. Is using a live BT a good idea?

What kind of weight would you use to keep the BT from dragging line all over the place?
