DISQUALIFIED SHARKS

We hate to have to disqualify any shark in the BHC but sometimes it has to happen so that anglers fishing in this tournament can understand that the Rules have to be followed.Without the Required Overall pic and a Tail pic it cannot count even with a video of the shark being measured .if you have the pics up but forgot to name the angler I will do it for you ,BUT without pics you are screwed!! Please call me and I will be more then happy to assist ANYONE PARTICIPATING IN THE BHC with Picture help or any other question that I can answer to help you with your sharks. We would rather not Disqualify any sharks at all .We want happy participants not disgruntled ones.

In some post people are putting up pictures of a shark and NO ANGLER NAME,or stating the shark is caught on a Bridge and there is no fight picture ON TOP OF A BRIDGE ;in yet other pictures there are no tail shot pic. When the fish in question is a potential winner in any division no slip ups can be overlooked and such is the case with two bull sharks caught by Team "Bait Munchers" . Neither bull shark will qualify for Jetty or Bridge for lack of proper fight pictures.Team Bait Munchers is composed of a group of young hardcore first time BHC anglers that are doing an excellent job fishing hard and catching big sharks but making a few young mistakes that we are sure they will overcome.

There are other sharks that they need to be disqualified .some need to look at some of those pictures of shark being pull in back of the boat to make the shark alive . I'm not in this year but some need to step up to put a stop to the cheating.

Some sharks tail fins remain erect, others sag. Stretching the tail sometimes is inadvertent. Will and the committee have a tough job keeping this fair for all. Maybe for prizes in the future, fork length should be used as it is easier to police.

There are many different "natural states" of sharks tails. Some up some down. We did not intentionally stretch the tail as you can see Nino is only holding the tail with one finger. Either way it should just be fork length to avoid all this.

In my opinion it is common sense to measure the fish with the measuring tape straight and not following the curve to the fish. It adds length....it doesn't say in the rules that you can't put a basketball between the tape measure and the shark but it is common sense same thing.

Take a measuring tape stretch it to 10 ft and put a 2 ft bow in it and see what it reads after.

The tape needs to be straight that's how I measure my fish and alot of other people did to....if curved tapes are accepted length should be added to all people fish who are measuring correctly. ..or more realistic the fish measured incorrectly should be either dqd or length subtracted 1 time warning. Just my opinion I think everyone doing it knows it adds length.

Good points are being made BUT some have taken the liberty to use sharks caught in the Blacktip Challenge as examples of sharks measured incorrectly that were allowed in that tournament. That was a cheap shot Dan -This is not the Blacktip Challenge ,I am not Josh Jorgensen and we will not allow sharks that are being INCORRECTLY MEASURED.I HAVE MADE MYSELF CLEAR.THE RULES HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THIS SITE AND ON FACEBOOK CONTINOUSLY FROM DAY ONE --"Sharks should be measured in a straight line" is that hard to figure out.It does not say "follow the sharks body line or up and down a bulging stomach" does it?? If you want stir shit up I can tell you,, you are barking up the wrong tree ,and I will take swift action to disqualify not only the Hammer Wrangler's 8 ft 11 inch Bull Shark that I used as an example up above but the FIRST PLACE 13 foot 2 inch, and the SECOND PLACE 11 FT 3 inch Hammerheads that both had there tails stretched beyond what is considered to be correct in the BHC. I have all the pictures in my possession by eye witnesses . I really did not want to touch upon this subject and maintain the Peace but since some can't take correction -here we are.

We REALLY should stride to keep the Peace in the BHC ,I for one am sick and tired of seeing all the crap that seems to follow our sport and when anglers from a winning Team such as Hammer Wranglers start creating problems when they should be more then happy to be winning almost every category it COMPLETELY SHOCKS ME ,and I am in DISBELIEF.

Dan I spoke to you on the phone yesterday,I asked you to not go public with this, and I made myself very clear and you understood your mistake and you also stated that the measuring tape used on the 6 ft 8 jewfish had the front part missing a sizable section and you understood that was also unacceptable and now you post up top to create problems because you are pissed off-If i were you I would learn from my mistakes and stop whining.

I have stated ALL I AM GOING TO SAY ON THIS SUBJECT --IF YOU WISH TO FURTHER CREATE PROBLEMS TO THIS TOURNAMENT I WILL BE SWIFT IN MY ACTIONS & DISQUALIFY WHAT THE COMMITTEE DEEMS UNACCEPTABLE.
