Tough Week

So far this week I have fished 48 hours over 3 days and had shark baits in the water for about 40 of those hours and this has been my slowest week/per hours with bait out there since I started fishing for sharks I believe. The runs are very few and far in between. Maybe part of the reason is the size of the baits I am fishing or maybe it is just a messed up year? Or maybe both? Does anybody else think it is kind of slow shark fishing for this month? The past 2 years May was my best month and so far this year it is my worst and I am surprised at that. Anyways, here are some pics I took while out this week since the fishing wasn't so great I had more time to take them. Sorry for the low photo quality all but 1 I believe were taken with my beat up old cellphone which is why pretty much all of them are daytime pics. But at least they are fishing pictures..sorry for the lack of sharks too

Bait stop

Things started off promising

Hook needs a touch up

Idk why I just like this picture

Empty beach always a beautiful sight

Another empty beach, wish I was as lucky with the sharkin'

Raiden Wins!!
Early evening smallish lemon. Thank you to the young lady who was passing by, she took this pic for me on her phone. I wish she would of stayed around cuz I got another similar sized lemon right after I took my line back out there, and released it without even attempting to get the flash on my generic camera to work. My only sharks for my efforts. Here are some pics of the morning after a looong skunk trip..

Incognito :D

The local turtle lady was kind enough to inform me I cannot have "anything" on the beach overnight..ironic, because her wine box (yes, box) would have been on the beach overnight had I not picked it up and thrown it out for her

I got news for you lil' buddy I didn't want ya anyways!

I hope things pick back up, good luck out there!

Ive been off all week and my Vac comes to an end tonight. I had a tough week myself fished all over the place with all different baits and leaders etc. Last night was my last chance to fish for a lil while. We went out with my 12/0 and 14/0 and two HUGE Black drum midsection chunks. The crosswind had my canoe spinning all over the place but I fought out about 100yds. Not happy with such a short drop I came back in and sat down. Told myself I'll take the second out when the wind dies down a lil. Steve was to my left casting cutbait and catching 2-3ft soupfin pretty consistently. My 14/0 just outta the blue started screaming. When I pulled it from the pipe it stopped, then I watch my line start to pick up and move out again. It picks up the bait again and starts to take off again and then slack line! I found frays 30ft up my line. Guess I found my underwater swim buoy again. I took the other bait out and it sat the rest of the night quiet. Except for FWC watching us from the beach access with 7Bravos (night vision goggles) which is fine with me, I don't break the law. Long story shorter, guess we just gotta keep pushing the only way to get a nice fish is to FISH :D
