Headed out the nite after my 6ft bull an landed this nice 7ft plus bull an missed 2sharks due to my hook doubling back on me.After taking some pics of my bull i cut her off an went on my search for a 2ft pc of wire i left there a few nites b4, i found it a twisted my last hook on it an threw down a 15lb chunk of bait about 45 min b4 slack tide. i layed down anno sooner i got to sleep my rod went off solid i look down the tide is dead. i let the fish eat fow a min due to such a big bait an onlyy one hook. i set up hard nailling the fist over an over an the fight is on slowly this fish makes me her b!$%* as she stripps me slowly to less the a haLF OF A SPOOL OF BRAN NEW 130LB i think i turn the fish an i bring her back to just over a half an out she goes again now i a little worried im by myself no one to help me an the tide is gonna change soon an try to help drag this monster under the bridge. the fight goes on 4 1hr45min to bring the fish all the way back in my knees are killing me back hurtting sun startting to come up an i get the fish about 50yrds from the bridge an the line goes limp im pissed no, depressed broke spirit i real in what little line i had out an see that the only thing that failed was the toughness of the sharks face. i had a small chunk of skin on my hook from where the shark had ripped. broken spirit i went home hurt an sore for days from workin the rod.

your on fire great report
x2!
Doin way better than us on the east coast, we've pretty much gave up til april. We got burnt many times this summer off the beach, it's just part of the game and you learn from your mistakes. Got the 12/0 dumped twice, broke on the reef on the 12/0 twice and once on the 80w( and probably would've go close to dumped if we didn't) and pulled hook on two 10ft+ hammers right before we could get the leader, litterally 5 more cranks and I had a shot at it both times.
If you were using circle hooks that's probably the reason those two hammers got loose when you were wiring em .They might of been yours if you were using J hooks,,,,,,just my opinion since the J's take a deeper bite.I personally can not recommend a circle hook to anyone for any reason.Guess I'm old and oldsckool.

Very nice solo missions..I appreciate that, its how I have to do it most of the time. Sorry you lost that fish on that long battle, but that will make it more enjoyable for you when you beat her.

nope will both times on j's 12/0 seademons. Every fish we put on the beach this summer were on 12/0 gamukatsu circles n pulled 0 hooks. Problem is you guys fish all mono so it's hard to get those circles to stick, we fish only 100-200yrd topshots n hammer the drag all the way on the hookset then back off, once those circles find a place to stick they're in and just burry even further. All we do is reel until the u can't anymore n the fish is swiming away from you then lean back as hard as you can clip in the harness n do work or get your ass handed to you. We've never pulled hook yet and very rarely see blackbart pull hooks and we fish identical set ups as them. I think dave pulled hook on one BIG HAMMER early this year around may n that was it for lost fish on circle hooks, that was after about an hour bowed up n a decent ways off the beach he just locked the drag down n decided that the fish was either going to stop or something was gonna break.
Way to go dude. You'll nail that monster
