Sanibel Lemon Shark
went out on a vacation with the in-laws and my new twin girls. had a blast all week. weather was good to us day and night. lots of bait pods and a few tarpon were rollin. brought out my two 50ws and the 9/0. we setup every night just before sunset. i had my 3 rods and dave had his 2 rods. the bait we had was everything from grouper carcass, cownose, skate, mullet, pup shark. monday thru friday we fished, everynight we had screamin runs. it was awesome but everytime we went to set hook, the bait was dropped or we pulled hook. it wasnt til weds night i finally set hook on this 7ft6in Lemon. hope u enjoy the pics. ps not the greatest story teller...
You don't gotta tell a great story if you got the facts and proof. I liked the details and lemon looks nice. I've had problems like that before, a lot has to do with hook placement and eating time... I know a screaming rod can get you excited but you gotta slow down and let a fish chew . That's like my friend on the pier setting up the second he grabbed his bottom rod and missed many fish. Or you could have just had some bad luck... that happens to me too.
Just an average fisherman.
Man you can sure see your proud of that... great job bro! and congrats on the twins, thats awesome.
lots of small bait stealing BTs in that area, there the ones that give you the OH YEA ZZZZZZZZZit then just stop little bastards make a sprint run mouthing the bait till they hit the weight and drop it.
Well thats my theory anyway, I cant see under water, I thought about putting a camera on my leader to see if I could confirm it. I have a Olympus camera that takes crappy photos but decent under water video... one of theses days I will do it, sense I have almost chucked the piece of $h!t in the drink anyways because of missing the shot, I wont mind if it gets chewed up
