It's ok, it takes the sharp edge off the bottom of your rod that usually digs into your hip or stomach. The only thing I don't like about it is when you cast you can't grip the bottom as easy. It was on there for my wife, she loves it. My oldest son loves it also. for women and kids it's awesome.
Why are you casting with it on? I only use it when I am fighting a fish. I keep it in my pocket and pop it on the butt when I hook up. Thanks for the info, I never thought about doing it that way.
