Me and my buddies from st.pete made are way down to boca grande 2 days ago. the night before i got a nice 70 pound tarpon from a guy, so we decided to go for some big hammers down south. we got there at like 2 in the morning cause we had to wait for someone to get some rays. i rowed that 2 chuncks of poon out on both my 12/0s, with in an hour i got the most confident sounding run from any shark i have ever heard the shark took off running like a bat out of hell and didnt stop for like 30 seconds so i put my rod in gear and let it tighten and started setting hook and it dropped it! we reeled it in and the chunk had no teeth marks! so that shark had to have a big enough mouth to put a 20 pound chunk in its mouth with out touching it with its teeth. we think it was a monster but i dont know.no runs after that so we packed up and left what do you guys think was it a monster or what could it be?

It's possible the fish just barely missed the bait and was temporarily foul hooked
