So I get a call from Shannon a week ago about hitting some of our old spots close to home where we've caught many sharks over the years and i was excited to try it out after recent reports of large Tarpon eating hammerhead spotted by a local fishing guide (no need for names). So much negative news on our sport as of late makes us go back into OLD-SCHOOL MODE-BeastMODE ;we seek the private times away from crowds ,away from newcomers that have not proven to have the same Warrior mindset,,we carry the sword ALL THE TIME -we don't half ass, or downplay what we do ,We fish for Monster Sharks!!

Music blaring in my truck ,my hearts beating fast at the thought of doing battle with a Monster Shark,, at the possibility of catching a beast with all we have learned,,we're ready for war once again. I head out to meet the crew that still has the memory of Rene de Dios fresh in there hearts--that bonds us and DRIVES THE PASSION to continue pursuing Monsters. On a a day when I forget my camera and have to rely on crappy phone pics we encounter a night to Remember with lots of action and the Monster we came for lost .We hit the beach in good fashion old school bare bones in cold temps with a bottle and good conversation to keep us warm. With fairly flat surf we got all our baits deployed by 7 pm and shortly thereafter Shannon gets hooked up on a large bait deployed way out where the Buffalo roam. The battle was on fighting the shark with his massive Fin Nor Santiago it's getting put to the test for the first time in it's life.Shannon is way up the dune running sideways to gain an advantageous angle on the beast pulling drag towards swim buoys that always seem to be at the wrong freakin place when King Kong strikes . The hooks pull and we end up pissed off but determined more then ever to fight on ,through all the bullshit, through all the backstabbing, through all the weak links that just seem to drag us into there own drama that we don't care for,we fight to catch the monsters ,we fight to fight another day, and never give up despite of all the bad media, bad press, ill intentioned people that claim to be with us but are quick to create division rather than UNITY.

Jonathan Polsino(treehopper) ends up with an almost 8 foot bull and Miguel catches a 5 foot blacktip on a casted bait on a reel that fries his thumb.WE WILL BE BACK _THIS IS OUR YEAR and the Big Hammer Challenge is getting near. Thanks for reading.

Will, good to see a report. Congrats on the fish. I know it feels good to be back doing it the old school way. the negativity towards sharking has been out of hand lately. Good luck and dont let it get you down!! Fish hard! Cant wait for the BHC!!!
